Karisma Kapoor's Children File Suit in High Court Over Father's ₹30,000 Crore Estate

The children of Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor and late industrialist Sunjay Kapur have taken legal action in the Delhi High Court. They are challenging a will, which they allege was forged by their stepmother, in a high-stakes dispute over Kapur's ₹30,000-crore estate.

The inheritance dispute over late industrialist Sunjay Kapur's vast ₹30,000 crore estate has intensified. His two children with Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor, Samaira and Kiaan, have filed a lawsuit in the Delhi High Court. They allege that their stepmother, Priya Sachdev Kapur, forged their father's will to gain control of his assets.

The children, represented by their mother Karisma Kapoor as their legal guardian, claim they are the rightful heirs and are entitled to a share of the estate. They have accused Priya of concealing details of Sunjay's properties and of initially denying the existence of a will before presenting a document dated just months before his sudden death in June.

A Complex Family Feud

The legal battle is not limited to Karisma Kapoor's children. Sunjay Kapur's mother, Rani Kapur, and his sisters have also questioned Priya's control over the family's assets. Rani Kapur, a former chairperson of the family's auto components company, Sona Comstar, has accused others of taking advantage of her grief to seize control of the business.

The dispute revolves around two separate wills. Rani Kapur claims a 2015 will made her the sole beneficiary of her late husband's estate, while Priya Sachdev Kapur has presented a 2025 will that allegedly leaves all of Sunjay's personal assets to her. The children's lawsuit highlights the suspicious circumstances surrounding the sudden appearance of this second will, which they say their stepmother initially withheld for weeks.

The lawsuit seeks to freeze all personal assets of Sunjay Kapur until the matter is resolved and asks the court to declare Karisma Kapoor's children as Class I legal heirs with a rightful share in the inheritance.
